Betty C. Robertson, age 74 of Shannon, IL, died Wednesday October 26, 2011 at the Provena St. Joseph Center in Freeport, IL. Betty was born December 17, 1936, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Frost) Vocu. She married Richard Robertson on October 17, 1952 in Las Vegas, NV. Her memberships include the Shannon Baptist Church and the Salvation Army. Betty enjoyed hand crafts, fishing and gardening. She is survived by three daughters, Gayle (Mike) Woodard of Shannon, Laura (John) Ross of Memphis, TN, and Tammy (John) Dennison of Farmville, NC; daughter-in-law Jessica Robertson of Pearl City, IL; two sons, Terry (Lynn) Robertson of Winterville, NC and Tim (Sue) Robertson of Orangeville, IL; sister Bonnie Loveland; brother Gene Vocu; Eighteen grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and her favorite dog Sissy. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Ronald, grandson Jason, and sister Bernice Beery. A funeral service will be held Thursday October 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM, at the Hermann Funeral Home in Shannon, Rev Tim Lehman presiding. There will be a one hour visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be held at City Cemetery in Freeport, IL. A memorial fund has been established.
