Beulah M. Townsend , age 92 of Warren, IL passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. She was born October 3, 1925 in Scales Mound to the late Helmer and Elsie (Hess) Hammer. Beulah married Harlan Townsend on June 17, 1944. He passed away November 19, 2009.

Beulah was a 1942 graduate of Warren High School. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Stockton. Beulah was a member of the Eureka Home Extension Unit for over 65 years. She was also a member of the Stagecoach Campers Club. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, gardening, crocheting, watching Wheel of Fortune and visiting with friends and family.

Beulah is survived by her two sons, Gerald (Cathy) Townsend of Stockton and Greg (Ginnie) Townsend of Freeport; her daughter, Judith Tessendorf of Bloomington; her grandchildren, Becky (Tom) Demmitt of Kissimmee, FL, Brad (Bev) Townsend of Stockton, Corey (Ruby) Townsend of Thompson Station, TN, Brian (Michelle) Townsend of Champaign, Jamie Townsend of Urbana and Jeremy Tessendorf of Normal; her great grandchildren, David, Emily, Joel, Joshua, Kaylee, Shaina and Henry; her brother, Austin (Jane) Hammer of Freeport; her sister, Maylene Crain of Warren; her sisters-in-law, Madge Dawson, Wilma (Ted) Balbach, Reita Sheffey, Pat Molitor and Judy Hammer; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Delano and Marlow, son-in-law, Don Tessendorf, and brothers-in-law, Virgil Molitor, Darrell Sheffey and Gordon Dawson.
