Burdelle "Fuzzy" Steffens , age 90 of Stockton, IL, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL. He was born December 8, 1926; the son of the late Farlow and Vera (Posey) Steffens. He attended Stockton Schools. Fuzzy married Marlene Keller on September 30, 1961.
He had served stateside as an Army Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He had worked for Kraft Foods for over 25 years and worked for Schaumberger Trucking. Fuzzy also did woodworking, carpentry and handy work. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Lena and of the American Legion in Stockton. He enjoyed collecting cookbooks and watching westerns, especially ones with John Wayne. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Steffens of Stockton; son, Lee (Eugenia) Steffens of Shoreview, MN; daughter, Penny (Richard) Duchow of Stockton; grandchildren, Katelyn Steffens, Jonathan (Laura) Steffens, Randall (Tiffanie) Duchow, and Rebecca Duchow; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Delbert & Lloyd.
A visitation will be held Friday, July 28 th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lena. The funeral service will be Saturday, July 29 th at 10:00 am also at the church with visitation beginning at 9:00 am. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established in his name.Saturday
