Obituary

Carson "Butch" Lloyd, age 78 of Stockton, IL, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at home. He was born July 28, 1934, the son of Leland and Nava (Westaby) Lloyd. He graduated from Stockton High School in 1952. Carson and Darlene Downing were married on August 10, 1953 in Stockton.

He was a member of The Fathers House in Lena, IL. Carson was a hard working man. He worked as a pipe fitter at First McNess, Kelly Springfield, and Kraft Foods. Carson was a family man, he loved his dogs, playing cribbage with his boys, fishing, and scroll wood working. He was also an avid reader; he especially enjoyed history, particularly the Civil War and WWI.

Carson is survived by his wife Darlene; two sons, Shawn (Patti) Lloyd of Seattle, WA, and Shayn (Cyndi) Lloyd of Tallahassee, FL; three sisters, Bette (Fred) Preito of North Ridge, CA, Ellen Whippo of Galena, IL, and Donna Stockwell of Stockton; one brother, Dwight (Fern) Lloyd of Dubuque, IA; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Scott, sister Ardith Harle, and brother Donnie.

A visitation will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton. The funeral Service will be Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at The Fathers House in Lena, IL, 216 W. Mason St., the Rev. Patrick Vandenburg presiding. A memorial fund has been established for the family and for FHN Hospice. The family invites anyone who would like to share lunch and fellowship to meet them at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Stockton, 127 E. Benton St., at 2:00 PM following a private family burial at Welch Hollow Cemetery.
