Catharine M. Wolff, age 92 of Stockton, went to be with her Lord & Savior on June 13, 2013 at the Stockton Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. Catharine was born September 17, 1920 in Hellam, PA to John and Mabel (Newcomber) Lieberknecht. She graduated from Hellam High School in 1938. She enjoyed playing high school basketball and roller skating. She married Wayne Goodpasture on June 29, 1946 and relocated to Palatine, IL, where they raised their only child, Karen. She was a charter member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights, IL, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was also a Girl Scout Leader. She later married Elmer Wolff on October 23, 1970 and relocated to Sterling, IL, where she worked for GE in Morrison. They later retired to Glen Haven, WI where they enjoyed fishing, socializing, and finishing their vacation home. They later moved to Leesburg, FL. They were active in the Hawthorne Retirement Community and the Bethany Lutheran Church. Together they enjoyed playing cards, worldwide traveling, taking cruises, and spending time with family & friends. Catharine is survived by her daughter, Karen Gurklis of Stockton, IL; two grandsons, Roger (Tiffin) Selz of Streamwood, IL and Tim Gurklis of Stockton; two great grandsons, Cameron & Colin Selz; two step-daughters; two sisters-in-law, Marjory (Lee) Watermeier of Bel Air, MD and Irma Borg of Oviedo, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Wayne; 2nd husband, Elmer; son-in-law, Thomas Gurklis; three sisters, Orpha Hibner, Dorothy Nell, and Margaret Sutton; and her brother Samuel Lieberknecht. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton. There will be a one hour visitation before the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Internment will take place at Hill Crest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg, FL. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
