Charlotte B. Flickinger , age 101 of Shannon, IL, died peacefully in her home Wednesday, January 18, 2017. She lived her life to the fullest for as long as she could, and she loved her life, her family, and her friends. She so appreciated your love and concern for her.
Charlotte was born in her home in Shannon on October 17, 1915 to the late Charles and Gertrude (Bevan) Rodermel. She graduated as Salutatorian from Shannon High School in 1933. She married Delmar Flickinger on October 4, 1936 in Lanark, IL.

She taught Sunday School for 51 years and was Sunday School Superintendent for 5 of those years. She also sang in the church choir and was a 4-H Club Leader.
Charlotte enjoyed reading, gardening, baking pies & angel food cakes from scratch, canning & freezing, and making deviled eggs for church potluck. She also enjoyed writing and receiving cards and letters, traveling, collecting souvenirs, and working word search puzzles. She loved farming with Delmar and taking walks on the farm. Taking phone calls and visits from family and friends meant so much to her. She also loved smiling at children and babies and sorting through collections of treasured memories.
