Obituary

Christine Michele Tippett, 65 . Chris peacefully departed early in the morning on February 27, 2025 at home with her family by her side, after an almost 10 year battle with cancer. She fought the disease bravely and relied heavily on her faith to guide her through. Chris still offered so much of herself to others throughout her illness, which is a true testament to the loving & caring person that she was. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, & friend.

Born October 25, 1959 Chris was the 5th of 7 children born to Owen & Nola (Mitchell) Boyle. She attended Holy Cross grade school and was a 1977 graduate of Stockton High School, starting her family the same year. She began working at Atwood (Dura) Automotive in 1978. She was employed there through many company changes. Chris worked her way up the ladder becoming a supervisor for many years of her 40+ year career there until they closed their doors. In her time at Dura, Chris made many lasting friendships that she cherished throughout the years.

On September 3, 1999 Chris married Russ Tippett. Throughout the years they enjoyed camping and taking many vacations together. They took trips to each coast, multiple trips to Mexico, Costa Rica, & cruised the Caribbean Sea.

In her free time, Chris enjoyed gardening, cooking, shopping, going to church, and loving on her kitties. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Chris had the biggest heart and was always there for her loved ones. She was a caregiver by nature and her family has been truly blessed to have been loved by such an incredible woman. She was a huge supporter of her grandchildren and spent countless hours traveling to and watching all of their activities, especially wrestling tournaments. She cheered them on from home when she couldn't be there, even up until her last days.

Chris will be greatly missed by her husband, Russ Tippett of Lena. One son, Brad Luke of Stockton. Two daughters Kelly (Logan) Staver & Daely Tippett (Jesse Herold) all of Stockton. Four sisters, Carol (Steve) Hollister of Morrison, IL, Connie Larson, Colleen Hoefer, & Corky (Mike) Luke, all of Stockton. One brother, Pat (Kim) Boyle of Pearl City, IL. In-laws Rick (Karen) Tippett of Elizabeth, Cindy (Herb) Wilson of Monroe, Wisconsin, Mike Tippett of Rockton, Illinois, Lori (Terry) Patterson of Elizabeth, Renee (Larry) Walls of Loves Park, Illinois and Jason (Jackie) Tippett of Lena. 12 Grandchildren Hunter Luke, Garrett Luke, Griffin Luke, Gracie Luke, Kallan Staver, Jeremiah Luke, Piper Sandell, Carter McColley, Silas Luke, Lyla Herold, & Hawkin Staver. One great-grandson Dusty Allen and many nieces and nephews.

Chris is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dusty Luke; a sister, Cathy (Doug) Broshous; triplet grandchildren; mother & father-in-law Carol Fischer & Nolan Tippett; brother-in-law, Richard Larson; Nephews Jason Larson & Troy Boyle. As well as many special aunts & uncles.
