Cleo C. Havens , age 81 of Apple River, IL passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Waverly Place in Stockton. She was born February 4, 1936 in Freeport to the late Floyd and Marie (Squires) Stine. Cleo married Herman Havens in Freeport on January 25, 1954. He passed away on December 3, 1999.

Cleo retired from Dura Automotive after 35 years of service. After retirement, she cared for the elderly and helped take care of her grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening. She loved to knit, crochet, visit with grandkids and friends, go to the casino, and most of all, talking with her best friend, Shirley North.

Cleo is survived by her five sons, Roy (Yvonne) Havens of Lead Mine, WI, John (Rhonda) Havens of Apple River, Scott Havens and best friend, Cherie Harper of Apple River, Reese Havens and Stacy Heitkam of Stockton, and Steve Havens; her seven grandchildren, Tyler, Sarkisian, Josh, Jeremy, Cole, Kelli, Nicole and Sayd; many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Skeeter and Michael, two sisters and one brother.

There will be a funeral service Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Friday, September 15, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. also at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton. A luncheon will be after the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Parkhouse in Apple River.
