Clifford "Danny" Oates , 67, Stockton, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Rockford.

Danny was born January 18, 1957, in Freeport, to Clifford "Skip" and Jeanette (Edwards) Oates. He attended schools in Wisconsin and Illinois. Danny worked at Atwoods, then drove semi for over thirty years.

He was quite a joke teller and never missed a chance to regale anyone and everyone with a few of the better ones.

Danny is survived by his sons, Josh (Aubrey) and their daughter, Aidan, of Davis Junction, IL, Jim (Krissy) and their son, Blake, of Farmington, MN. Also, his siblings, Susan, of Freeport, IL, Clair, of Yukon, OK, Dennis, of Lone Rock, WI, and his very best friend, Cathy Jones of Stockton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a celebration of Life on June 1, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stella's in Stockton.
