David Lyle Bushman, age 96, of Milledgeville , IL , passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Parkview Home in Freeport . David was born June 22, 1916 in Milledgeville , Illinois to Nelson and Clara (Hubbard) Bushman. He was a 1935 graduate of Milledgeville High School and attended the University of Illinois . He served in the Navy during World War II from 1941 to 1945. David Married Harriet Beattie on February 11, 1943 in LaSalle , IL . David was a member of the Milledgeville Methodist Church , the Freeport YWCA, the Stockton Heritage League, and a 50 year member of the Milledgeville Masonic Lodge. He was a supervisor at Kraft Foods in Milledgeville for 40 years, retiring in 1985. David is survived by his wife of 70 years, Harriet Beattie Bushman; brother, Lynford of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell, George, Salem , Howard and Henry; sisters, Leila Baughman and Dorothy Rick. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton , IL . Following the service, a luncheon will be held at Parkview Home. A memorial has been established to the Milledgeville United Methodist Church and the Milledgeville Veterans Memorial.
