Dean Martin Ertmer
, age 57 of Stockton, IL passed away peacefully at FHN Memorial Hospital on Saturday, March 21, 2015. He was born in Freeport, IL to Francis and Eileen Ertmer on October 28, 1957. He graduated from Stockton High School in 1975. He had served in the U.S. Army as a military Police Officer until his honorable discharge.
Marty was known as a fun loving jokester and quite the life of the party. He loved woodworking, gardening, fishing, and autobody. He was not much of a sports fan, but loved the Price is Right.
He is survived by his mother, Eileen of Sioux Falls, ND; sons, Chris of Apple River, IL and Nick (Rachel) of Lena, IL; step children, Greg, Aaron, Dawn Wurster, and Tina Krenzer; several grandchildren; siblings, Frank of Laughlin, NV, Tom (Bobbi) of Grasflat, PA, Cindy (Michael) Norten of Atlanta, GA, and James (Susan) of Indianapolis, IN; and special friend, Lorell Ertmer.
Marty is preceded in death by his father, Francis; sister, Mari; brothers, Bob and John; and step daughter, Melissa Wurster.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
