Donald William Brudi , age 92, of Stockton, IL passed away Monday, July 6, 2026 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on the family farm in Woodbine on June 15, 1934 to the late William and Lila (West) Brudi. Don married Judy Kempel on December 29, 1962 at Christ Lutheran Church in Stockton.

He started his education at West Point, a one room school house and graduated from Stockton High School in 1951. Don was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church in Stockton where he served numerous positions on Church Council. He was a trustee for the Elizabeth Fire District for over 40 years, served on the Elizabeth Nursing Home Board and was a member of the Stockton American Legion. Don served in the U.S. Army. He had worked at the Stockton Hardware Store, on the family farm, and owned/operated Brudi Backhoe. He enjoyed playing cards, snowmobiling, boating, fishing and deer hunting. Most of all he loved his family and watching his children and grandchildren in all of their activities.

Don is survived by his wife, Judy; his daughter, Betsy; his sons, Brad (Val) and Brian (Rhonda); his grandchildren, Peyton (Madison), Taylor (Blake), Carter, Hope, Hannah, Haley and Joseph; his great grandchildren, Kayla and Kelsey; his sisters, Marilyn Flachman and Sandra Weaver; and his brother, Gary Brudi; he was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, June (Dalvin) Dittmar; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Weaver, Wilbur Flachman and Marvin Kempel.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Christ Lutheran Church in Stockton at 10:00 a.m. There will be a visitation on Friday, July 10, 2026 also at the church from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Woodbine Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
