Donald E. Catron , age 85 of Stockton, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at home after a short battle with cancer. He was born on February 23, 1934 to the late Rev. Morris and Tressie (Doss) Catron.

Don was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in both Stockton and Freeport, and also the Stockton VFW. He had served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and had worked at Structo/Thermos. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and watching the Green Bay Packers.

Don is survived by his sons, Donald (Sandee) of Joelton, TN and John (Cheri) of Winnebago, IL; his step daughters, Debra (Ed) Heim of Darlington, WI and Cheryl (John) Yeager of Stockton; his three daughters from his first marriage, Susan, Betty, and Rose; his brothers, Forrest and Duane (Mary); his sisters, Ruby (Joe) Fuller, Juanita Pieper, Darlene McCormick, and Patricia (Curtis) Post; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and William; and two sisters, Margaret and Wanda.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton. A memorial fund has been established.
