Donald Krug , 98, Stockton, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018.

Donald was born on January 27, 1920 on the farm in Massbach the son of Oscar and Kathryn (Marks) Krug.

He married Myra Gerbick on March 4, 1942. Together they enjoyed 76 years marriage. They have two daughters – Sandra (John) Stoehr and Nancy (David) Brockman, two granddaughters – Lori (Brian) Bowman and Cheri (Scott) Presley and five great-granddaughters – Emma, Hannah, Isabelle, Ashlyn and Leighton.

After farming for their entire career in Massbach, they retired to a home in Stockton for the past 25 years.

Donald was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Massbach where he served on the church council and was active in the church in so many ways.

Donald served on the Board of Directors of the Jo-Carroll Electrical Utility Coop. He also served many years as a rural fireman fireman for the Elizabeth Fire Department.

He thoroughly enjoyed baseball – as an active participant in his early years and as a life-long fan of the Chicago Cubs.

He was a kind and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who was always supportive and available to help in any time of need and was so interested in the achievements of his granddaughters and great granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law – Marian and LeRoy Endress, and a cousin – Florence Belk who was raised with him as a sister.

The funeral service for Donald will be held on Monday, November 19 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church of Massbach with pastors Bruce and Lisa Burbank officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 to 11:00 preceding the service at 11:00. Burial will be at the Massbach Cemetery.
