Dorothy M. Rinderman , age 89, of Shannon, IL passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL. She was born October 3, 1932 in Shannon, IL to the late Wesley and Luella (Rademaker) Temple. Dorothy married Robert Rinderman in 1950. Robert passed away in 1983.
Dorothy was a member of Prairie Dell Presbyterian Church and Bethel United Methodist Church. She was a member of the church choir and the bell choir, she would assist with worship services and was in charge of luncheons at the church. Dorothy started working at the Lanark Canning Co., she then went on to Burgess Battery, Selective Service, and Teelee Popcorn. She was also a caregiver for her mother for many years. In her younger years, Dorothy was an avid roller-skater. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, music, a good joke, euchre, kings in the corner, and dancing and watching her daughter line dance. She made a lot of banana bread and would share it with everybody.
Dorothy is survived by her sister, DeLores Winter; her daughter, Pam (Robert) Yeagle; her grandchildren, Eric Schrader, Eryn (Michael) Rubino and Thad (Kat) Schrader; her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Robert, Nathan, Ethyn, Vivian and Olivander; her great great grandchildren, Oktober and Hazelyn; and many nieces, nephews, and bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her infant brother, Henry; her brother, Kenneth (Marilyn) Temple; and her sisters, Bertha (Russell) Lower, Edna Temple, Millie (Donald) Hille and Annie (Mac) Fisher.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Shannon at 11:00 a.m. There will be a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established.
