Douglas John Brandenburg's Obituary
Douglas J. Brandenburg, age 69 of Stockton, IL, died September 1, 2014. He was born March 23, 1945 in Freeport, IL; the son of Earl and Dorothy (Smith) Brandenburg. Douglas was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Stockton. He graduated from Stockton High School in 1964.
He was employed for over 30 years at Kelly-Springfield Tire Co and was an avid Stockton Blackhawks fan. He is survived by sisters, Donna Ball of Gahanna, OH and Earlene (Richard) Vondran of Freeport, IL; four nieces, Teresa (Steve) Stahl of Gahanna, OH, Tracy (Jason) Peifer of Aurora, IL, Tiffany and Tara Vondran of Chicago, IL; and nephew, Tim Ball of Columbus, OH. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton, IL; Rev. Susan Davenport presiding. There will be a visitation prior to the service beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL. A memorial fund has been established.
