Elizabeth Betty A. Johnson 91 of Pearl City died Sunday, August 19, 2012 at home. She was born February 1, 1921 in Freeport, IL the daughter of the late Harry & Jennie (Fogel) Strohecker Sr. She graduated from Freeport High School in 1937. She married Morrell Johnson February 28, 1942 in Freeport; he died March 29, 1965. She was a member of the Zion Community Church in Pearl City, Pricilla Club, U and I Club, and the Red Hatter's. She had farmed, worked at the Shannon Locker and drove School Bus for the Pearl City School District. She enjoyed being a 4-H leader, loved to bowl, traveling, she had visited all of the continents, riding horses, being the activity director for all of her friends, she was there to help anyone who needed help. She is survived by 2-daughters; Lenore (Nick) Katzenberger of Pearl City and Julie (Kenny) Rausch of Lanark, 5-grandchildren; Eric (Rosie) Katzenberger of Monroe, WI, Aaron (Julie) Katzenberger of Freeport, Emily (Dave) Dixon of Pearl City, Jessica (Tony) Hasenour of East Moline & Megan (Steve) Parkinson of Freeport, 13 great grandchildren; Briana, Jenna, Mariah, Rhett, Madison, Libby, Brady, Marissa, Kendall, Mitchell, Tyler, Ava & Mason, foster daughter Becky (Earl) Hill of Broken Arrow, OK, 3-sister in-laws; Nadine Strohecker of Freeport, Elaine Johnson and Donna (Kenneth) Musser of Pearl City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3-sisters & a brother. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Hermann Funeral Home in Pearl City. Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Zion Community Church in Pearl City. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established.
