Etha R. Atz, age 101 of Stockton, died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Stockton Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 23, 1911 in Woodbine, the daughter of George & Clara (McKillips) Thomas. Etha graduated from Woodbine Country School. She married Clarence Atz on September 27, 1930 in Dixon, IL; he died May 3, 1982.
Etha farmed along with her husband. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and dancing when she was younger.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Merle) Gothard of Stockton; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Frances Thomas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters, and a brother.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton. There will be a one hour visitation before the service beginning at 10:00AM. A memorial fund has been established for the Stockton and Elizabeth Ambulance.
