Francis "Ron" Nadig, age 74 of Stockton, IL, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at home. He was born July 23, 1940; the son of the late Arthur and Betty (Kupersmith) Nadig. He was a 1958 graduate of Stockton High School then attended UW Madison where he took the farm short course. He went on to graduate from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor's degree in animal husbandry. Ron married Linda Kriebs on February 26, 1982.
He had farmed all of his life on the family farm and was also a cattle dealer. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Stockton. He received his pilot's license and flew in the mid 70's. Ron was a football fan and loved the Stockton Blackhawks, and hated seeing the Bears get beat. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Ron is survived by his wife, Linda Nadig of Stockton; daughter, Lisa Nadig of Chicago, IL; sons, Rob (Kelly) Nadig of Stockton, Jim (Julie) Nadig of Stockton, and John (Charlotte) Nadig of DeKalb, IL; grandchildren, Arman Mehdipour, Carl, Ryan, Stephanie, Rachel, Kassi, Sarah, Cole, Caleb, Ruth, Joseph, Benjamin, Elijah, and Phinehas; sister, Jerilyn (Eldon) Carroll of Stockton; aunt, Sandra Fox of Stockton, niece, Anna (Paul) Broshous; and nephews, Jody (Connie) Carroll, Rick (Gretchen) Carroll, and Doug (Cheryl) Carroll. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 24 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton. The funeral service will be Saturday, October 25 at 11:00 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church in Stockton. Interment will take place at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton. A memorial fund has been established.
