Frank A. Skutt, Jr.
, age 71 of Warren, IL, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL. He was born January 3, 1945 in Spring Valley, IL; the son of the late Frank and Mary (Muhich) Skutt, Sr. He graduated from Hennepin High School in Hennepin, IL. Frank married Mary LaDow on June 27, 1981 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Warren.
He served in the United States Army as a gunner in a helicopter and was stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He had worked for Kelly Springfield in Freeport and Dura Automotive in Stockton. He also worked three seasons at the Swiss Colony. He was a hard worker all of his life and in early years helped out on the family farm. He enjoyed fishing and driving west.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary of Warren; daughter, Fae Ravenscoft of Columbus, GA; three granddaughters; one great grandson; three step-daughters; one step-son; two step-granddaughters; two step-grandsons; sister, Evelyn (Paul) Bronkema of Stockton; brother, Eugene (Ruth) Skutt of Stockton; aunt & uncle, Lonnie and Elizabeth Napier of Ladd, IL; numerous nieces & nephews; and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Jerry Lee Skutt; brother, Jerome Skutt; and infant brother, John Skutt.
A visitation will be held Thursday, February 18th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton with a Rosary service at 4:00 pm. The funeral Mass will be Friday, February 19th at 11:00 am at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Warren. Interment will take place at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
