Geneva A. Stadel , age 86, of Lena, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Lena Living Center.   She was born in Thompson, IL on August 2, 1931 to the late Cecil and Josephine (Sour) Imel.  Geneva married Dale Stadel on September 14, 1957 in Lanark, IL.

She was a 1949 Graduate of Mouth Carroll High School and farmed with her husband in Stockton until retiring to Lena.  She was a dedicated member of Calvary United Methodist Church and Calvary Methodist Women and served as membership secretary.  Geneva was a member of the Stockton Women's Cub, was very active with Home Extension including the Eureka Unit for 45 years and county offices, as well as supporting events such as Market Days in Galena. She also participated in Good Sam Camping Club, Rural Youth, and a Square-Dancing team.  She enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing, needle work and was an exceptional baker.  After she and Dale sold their guernsey cows, she took on other challenges such as getting the less fortunate access to home heating, helped seniors, and worked at Swiss Colony and Sears.

Geneva is survived by her husband, Dale of Lena; her two daughters, Joetta Stadel of Seattle, WA and Renee (Robert) Stadel Napper of Burbank, CA; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Warren Imel; and sister, Betty Lartz.
