Gerald K. Woolcock, age 73 of Freeport, IL, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. He was born May 11, 1938 in Fayette, WI the son of the late Clarence & Selma (Olson) Woolcock. He was a1956 graduate of Stockton High School and attended college at the U.W. of Platteville, WI. Jerry married Karen Johnston on June 13, 1959 in Savanna. He had worked at Micro Switch and he owned & operated Jerry's Design and Engineering. He had enjoyed playing in several area bands, including Russ Wilson Band and Jerry and the Sounds of Rhythm. He enjoyed house boating, camping and had coached Little League Baseball. Jerry loved the river, music and his dog Coco. He is survived by his wife Karen, daughter Linda (Randy) Pontnack of Lena, 2-son's; Jerry (Robin) Woolcock of Lake Carroll & Jay Woolcock of Freeport, 5-grandchildren; Weston Woolcock, Megan Woolcock, Lauren Woolcock, Derrick (Jocelon) Pontnack & Dillon (Jackie England) Pontnack, 4-great grandchildren; Evelyn & Charlotte Pontnack & Bailey & Allie Pontnack and their mother Brandi Moon, sister; Faye (Darryl) Wybourn of Waddams Grove, IL and brother Larry (Christine) Woolcock of Waddams Grove, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Dustin Pontnack, sister Marilyn Costello and brother Edward Woolcock. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 1:30 PM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton, IL where visitation will begin at 11:00 AM.
