STOCKTON, IL Harvey M. Pierce 92 of Stockton died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Morgan Memorial Home in Stockton. He was born April 14, 1919 in Stockton the son of the late Ross and Jennie (Flack) Pierce. He married Mary Walters on September 4, 1947 in Stockton, she died August 8, 2000. Harvey graduated from Stockton High School in 1937 and had attended the University of Madison. He had served in the Army Air Corp 26th Service Squadron during WWII, he claimed to have walked from one end of Italy to the other during the war. He had farmed most of his life and had worked at Atwood Automotive. His memberships include Wesley United Methodist Church, Plum River Masonic Lodge #554, American Legion Post 449, and the Stockton Lions Club. He loved his art, painting (we think he tried every genre out there), sculpting, and anything else that sparked his interest. He loved spending time with his grandkids while they were growing up; swimming, skiing, fishing.pretty much anything that they wanted to try, grandpa was there to do it with us. He is survived by his Daughter Janice (Howard) Wilkinson of Stockton, Step Son John (Karleen) Walters of Morrison, 4-Grandchildren; Christie (Nick) Deyo, Jody (Ben) Newman, Scott (Carrie) Wilkinson & Jenny (James) Homan, Step Grandchildren; Jeff, Linda, John, Kim, Julie, Harvey, Kay, Penny & Teresa, Many Great Grandchildren and a few Great Great Grandchildren, 2-Sisters; Darlene (Greg) Rowe of Warren & Jane (Austin) Hammer of Freeport, Brother Melvin (Inez) Pierce of Stockton. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Great Grandaughter Allie and 4-Sisters. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM where a Masonic Service will be at 7:30 PM. Friday. Burial will be in Ladies Union Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 449.
