Hattie J. Vicker
, age 91 of Lake Carroll, IL passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Friendship Village in Schaumburg, IL. She was born July 24, 1924 in Chicago, IL; the daughter of the late Frank and Hedwig (Pievitz) Schaeffer. She was a 1942 graduate of Carl Schurz High School in Chicago. Hattie married Paul Vicker on April 6, 1946; he died June 14, 2001.
She was a founding member of the Lake Carroll Women's Club. Her memberships also included the Villa Park Women's Club and Lioness Club; the Lake Carroll Red Hats, Choral Group, and Beautification Committee; the Mt. Carroll Senior Center Quilting Group; and Home Extension Otter Creek Live Wires. While her children were in school, she was active in the PTO and with her husband in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Novotny of Sedalia, Co and Katheryn (Patrick) Ryan of Rolling Meadows, IL; son, Kenneth (Lynn) Vicker of Rolling Meadows; grandchildren, Kevin (Shannon) Vicker, Shaun Ryan, Andrew Ryan, and Lauren Ryan; great grandchildren, Elisabeth, Ruth & Isaiah Vicker; and sister, Lillian May Works of Austin, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Paul.
The funeral service will be held Friday, November 27th at 11:00 am at the Hermann Funeral Home in Pearl City, IL. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 9:30 am. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery in Pearl City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lake Carroll Women's Club: 21-31 Forest Hill Dr., Lanark, IL 61046.
