James Albert White passed away on June 17, 2026, shortly after celebrating his 89th birthday.  Born June 9 1937 in Crawford County, Illinois, Jim lived a life defined by faith, hard work, devotion to family, and service to others.  Jim's life was rooted in values that never changed.  He understood the importance of responsibility, perseverance, and caring for others. These qualities stayed with him throughout his life and were evident in everything he did. One of the greatest blessings of Jim's life was his marriage to the love of his life, Janis Marie White. Together they shared 70 years of marriage, building a home and a family grounded in love, faith, and commitment. Their marriage was an example to all who knew them, a testament to the strength that comes from walking through life's joys and challenges together. Jim devoted 22 years of his career to Illinois Bell Telephone Company, serving in various positions and earning the respect and friendship of his colleagues through his dedication and strong work ethic. He believed in doing a job well and taking pride in honest work. Faith was also central to Jim's life. He was in leadership roles in every church he was a part of. He offered a steady example of Christian faith. He understood that faith was not only something to be professed, but something to be lived through service, humility, love and friendship, always demonstrating the fruits of the spirit.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janis Marie White; his brothers, Milford Dean White and Lloyd Eugene White; and his sisters, Gloria Jean Dolega, Mary Agnes Kolnes and step-grandson Jantz Curtis Wedel. We find comfort that he is with Jesus and being reunited with his loved ones right now. He is survived by his son, James A. White Jr. (Shay-anne); his daughters, Jamie (John) Schmitz, Mary (Rod) Wedel, and Carol (Joe) Gagliardi; as well as many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him tremendous joy and who will carry his memory forward for generations to come.

When we remember Jim, we remember a man who was faithful to God, devoted to his wife and family, and always had a smile on his face. He understood what truly mattered in life not possessions, titles, or accomplishments, but the people we love and the relationships we nurture.  As we say goodbye, we give thanks for a life well lived and a man well loved.  We honor his memory by carrying forward the faith, integrity, and devotion that defined him.  We hold his words in our hearts to "cherish family always".
