Obituary

STOCKTON, IL - Janet Clay of Stockton departed this life July 26, 2012 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home.
She was born January 17, 1935 in Stockton. The daughter of the late Donald and Rosemary (DeFendi) Dick, Janet married Charles F. Clay January 17, 1953. Following 44 years of marriage, Charles died August 8, 1997. She was also preceded in death by one son, Anthony 'TonyClay who died February 22, 1993.
Surviving her are sons Stephen 'Henry(Karen) Clay of Stockton and Thomas (Lisa) Clay of Chatham, IL; five grandchildren Erik (Jill) Clay of Madison, WI; Kara (Fiancee Matthew Searby) Clay of Sumter, SC; Daniel Clay of Glendale, AZ and Eliot and Alexandra Clay of Chatham; two great-grandchildren Hunter and Harper Clay of Madison, WI; and two brothers Donald 'Bud(Linda) Dick of Gardnerville, NV and Thomas (Marcia) Dick of Malta, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
While her husband drove trucks for 38 years, Janet was in charge of the household. She was a devoted life-long member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton and she loved sports, especially the Stockton Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Lakers. Janet was an excellent card player, loved bingo and was known to frequent a casino or two.
A memorial service will be held Saturday August 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Janet Clay Memorial, 211 W Prairie Apt 1, Stockton,IL 61085. Condolences for the family can be sent to www. hermannfuneralhome.com.
