Jeanette "Jan" L. Kuehl, age 74 of Stockton, IL, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the Stockton Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 21,1939, the daughter of the late Harry and Laura (Wentlender) Allen. She graduated from Galena High School in 1957. Jan married Dean Kuehl on January 11, 1964 in Galena. She retired from Kraft Foods in Stockton, and had worked for Dun & Bradstreet in Dubuque and Allied Gas Co. in Stockton. She belonged to Christ Lutheran Church in Stockton where she was a member of a ladies' circle. Jan enjoyed bowling, reading the newspapers, working in the yard, painting and especially going to the casino. She was an avid NOMADDS follower and loved her grandchildren dearly. She is survived by her loving husband, Dean; daughter, Lisa (Jon) Schoenhard of Stockton; son, Mark (Renee) Kuehl of Rochester, MN; six grandchildren, Mallory Schoenhard, Rachel Kuehl, Emily Kuehl, Ben Kuehl, James Prunty, and Violet Kuehl; brother, Robert (Dobber) Allen of Galena; seven sisters-in-law, Doreen (Otto) Kuehl, Mina Gotham, Elsie Kunz, Dorothy Kolasch, Adela Burk, Esther Schlichting Wand, and Shirley Sincox; and brother-in-law, James Bush. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joan Bush; sisters-in-law, Mary Allen, Ada Kuehl, and Hulda Kuehl; and brothers-in-law, Otto Kuehl, Walter Kuehl, Dick Kuehl, Bill Gotham, Melvin Kunz, Milton Burk, Norman Kolasch, and John Schlichting. A visitation will be held Wednesday November 6, 2013 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton. The funeral service will be Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Christ Lutheran Church in Stockton. Interment will take place at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton. A memorial fund has been established for the Alzheimer's Association and Hospice.
