Jim "Butch" Encheff , age 75, of Stockton, IL passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025 at home. He was born in Phil Campbell, AL on June 6, 1950 to the late Michael and Marcle (Stevens) Encheff. He married Linda Smith in Richland Center, WI.
Jim was a 1968 graduate of Harlem High School. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Loves Park VFW. Jim helped build AAA Disposal and was a manager for Cox Transfer Trucking Service for 25 years. After retirement, he enjoyed going back to work hauling grain for VenHuizen's. He was an avid Facebook Marketplace car buyer and loved talking cars with his brother. Jim also enjoyed fishing with his friend, Pat Smith. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and giving them scooter and tractor rides.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Encheff; his sons, Chad (Veronica) Encheff, Michael Dunn and Robert Dunn; his daughter, Shelly (Kevin) Sersch; his 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; his brother, Wendell (Angela) Watkins; and his sister, Jessie (Dave) Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Todd Noles; and his brother, Pete Encheff.
The family would like to thank Billy and Amanda Parsley, Jeff Stacy, Don Renton, Angela Murphy, Elizabeth Holmes, and FHN Hospice for their love and care over the last year.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established.
