Joan L. Bonvillain 75 of Stockton died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home. She was born May 19, 1937 in Freeport, IL the daughter of the late Chester & Mildred (Lyon) Keefer. She was a 1955 graduate of Stockton High School. Joan married Charles Bonvillain on June 18, 1955 in Stockton; he died on July 19, 1999. She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Rosary & Alter Society in Stockton, Elizabeth Quilting Guild and the Home Extension. She had volunteered knitting caps for new born babies at FHN Hospital. She had been a past election judge for JoDaviess County. Her hobbies include; quilting, sewing, crocheting, making crafts, and painting. She loved her grandchildren & great grandchildren and enjoyed her cat GG 'Good Girl'. She is survived by her 5-daughters; Lori (Ted) King of Freeport, Lynn (John) Tucker of Freeport, Louise Ils of Lena, Lisa (Eric) Yeoman of Pearl City, Lynda (Fred) Borsdorf of Galena, 3-sons; Layne (Lisa) Bonvillain of Stockton, Leslie (Rhonda) Bonvillain of Elizabeth, Larry (Bonnie) of Freeport, 22 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2-sisters; Barbara (Duane) Kuhl and Janice Broshous of Stockton, 2-brothers; William (Eileen) Keeffer of Stockton and Tom(Julie) Keeffer of Renton, WA, and sister In-law Catherine Marcum of Freeport. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Ronald and son in-law Howard Ils. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton where visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. A memorial fund has been established for the Holy Cross Church Youth Religious Education fund & the Leonard C. Ferguson Cancer Center.
