John J. Miller , age 69, of Shannon, IL passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025 at FHN hospital. He was born in Freeport on September 29, 1955 to the late Alyn and Norma (Popp) Miller.

He was a 1973 graduate of Shannon High School. He went on to work at Kelly's for a short time then went on to Honeywell for several years. He was a member of Bethel UMC and the Shannon Lions Club. John enjoyed bowling, listening to music, and watching tv.

He is survived by his brother, Pat (Jan) Miller of Shannon; his niece, Angie (Brian Daws) Dieterman; his nephew, Troy (Jamie) Miller; his great niece, Kylie Dieterman; and his great nephews, Drew Dieterman and Carson Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, David Miller.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Bethel UMC at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial fund has been established.
