Joseph J. Krohmer , age 92 of Stockton, IL passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at home. He was born March 26, 1926 in Lenox, IA to the late John and Marie (Wurster) Krohmer. Joe married Lorene Hubb on April 16, 1948 in Stockton. Lorene passed away November 4, 2001.

Joe was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Stockton, American Legion and Stockton VFW. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict where he spent time in Korea and Japan. He owned and operated the Shell Station in Stockton in the early 60's. Joe was employed for 28 years at the Freeport Ford Garage. He was a Ford man through and through. He had a love for cars and would often be found tinkering in the garage. Most of all, Joe loved spending time with his family and granddogs, Floyd and Jazi.

He is survived by his son, Harlan (Lisa) Krohmer of Machesney Park, IL; his daughter, Marleen (Jim) Bower of Mt. Carroll, IL; his brother, James (Carol) Krohmer of Stockton; his sisters, Mae Krohmer of Austin, TX and Dorothy Reed of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Brittany Krohmer, Hali Bower, and Jodi (Larry) Luebke; his great grandchildren, Breanna, Jamie, Jayce, Hunter and Clayton; and his great great grandchildren, Johan, Jevy and Jaelyn. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton at 11:00 a.m. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton. A memorial fund has been established for FHN Hospice and the Stockton Ambulance Service.
