Judith K. Schiess, age 76, of Stockton, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

Born on May 14, 1950, Judy was the beloved daughter of Harold and Clara (Kopp) Below. A longtime resident of Stockton, Judy spent most of her life deeply rooted in the community she loved, graduating from Stockton High School with the class of 1968.

In 1969, Judy married Hugh Parker, and together they raised their two children, Derick and Leeann. Judy spent many years working in the office of Stockton architect J. Eric Anderson where her diligence and friendly nature were well known. Later in life, Judy was blessed to find love again, marrying Don Schiess in 1999 and sharing many wonderful years by his side.

Judy found her greatest peace and joy outdoors. She had a true passion for gardening and treasured quiet, sunny afternoons spent tending to her garden and relaxing in her backyard. She will be dearly missed by all who spent time with her.

She is survived by her husband, Don Schiess; her daughter, Leeann (Brian) Fischer; her brother, Jerold (Eileen) Below; her grandchildren, Tristan Tucker, Tessa Tucker, Alexander Parker, Dylan Fischer, and Shawn Fischer; along with extended family and dear friends throughout the Stockton area.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Clara Below; her infant brother, James Below; her brother, Thomas Below; her first husband, Hugh Parker; and her son, Derick Parker.

In accordance with Judy's wishes, private family services will be held. The family appreciates your love, support, and prayers during this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Judy's memory to Tyler’s Justice Center in Stockton.
