Katherine R. Kuhlemeier, 87 of Pearl City, Il died July 4, 2011 at the Lena Living Center. She was born October 23, 1923 in Freeport, Il the daughter of the late Harry & Jennie (Fogel) Strohecker Sr. She was a 1941 graduate of Freeport High School. Katherine married Clemens Kuhlemeier on May 23, 1942 in Freeport, he died December 14, 1995. Together they had farmed for many years. She was a member of the Zion Community Church, U. and I. card club, Priscilla Club, and the Pearl Valley Ranger Riding Club. Katherine enjoyed gardening, baking, and loved her grandchildren. She is survived by her 3-Son's Steve (Dee) Kuhlemeier of Freeport, Andrew (Mary) Kuhlemeier of Pearl City, & Stuart (Debbie) Kuhlemeier of Pearl City, Daughter Ann (Albert) Mokros of Lena, Daughter In-Law Cathie Dambman of Milledgeville, Sister Betty Johnson of Pearl City, sister In-Law Nadine Strohecker of Freeport, Brother In-Law Norman Kuhlemeier of Freeport and several nieces & nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2-sisters Jane George & Doris Chambers and brother Harry Strohecker Jr. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday July, 9, 2011 at the Zion Community Church in Pearl City with Pastor Ellis Boughton and Pastor Ed Curry officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday at the Hermann Funeral Home in Pearl City. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery.
