Keith LaVerne Starr, age 82, of Stockton, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Stockton Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 18, 1931 in Stockton, IL; the son of the late LaVerne and Golda (Thomasson) Starr. He was a 1949 graduate of Stockton High School. Keith had served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He married Carole Schreck on April 7, 1951; she died August 15, 2010. s a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Stockton. His memberships also include the Stockton VFW Post #1304, the Stockton American Legion Post #449, and Korean War Veterans Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and crocheting. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by three daughters, Pam (Jerry) Dascher, Stockton, IL, Kathy (Russell) Snyder, Monroe, WI, and Lori Mercer, Massbach, IL; son, Dennis (Kathi) Starr, Stockton, IL; grandchildren: Kim Scace, Steve Dascher, Beth Cuminale, Nick Snyder, Tony Mercer, Trista Mercer, Jennifer Marks, Kayla Starr, and Marty Marks; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Rita Cook, Hanover, IL; and sister-in-law, Joan Duffy, AZ.
Preceding him in death were Parents; Wife, Carole; daughter, Merrie; three grandchildren, Scott, Michelle, and Adam; and son-in-law, Keith.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church in Stockton, IL with burial at Ladies Union Cemetery in Stockton. Friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Hermann Funeral Home - Stockton Chapel. A memorial fund has been established.
