Kenneth G. Holze of Stockton, Illinois, loving Husband of Mabel Holze; father of Son, Henry; daughters, Melody (Marshall) Brown and Bonnie (James) Maxwell; daughter-in-law, Lila Holze, passed away from cancer March 06, 2014 at home, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his grandchildren: Keith Brown, Michael (Kristin) Brown, Tomye (Brandon) Erbe, Ken (Sherry) Holze, Benjiman Holze, Hannah Holze, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Other family members include Sister-in-laws, Gen and Dorothy Holze, Marjorie (Mearl) Maynard; and Brother-in-law, Dale Doty
He was proceeded in death by: His parents; brothers, Clarence, Fritz, Lester and Henry; sister, Leona Crane; and son, Kenneth Dale Holze.
Kenny was born; January 03, 1930 in Hampshire, Illinois to Henry and Bertha (Thurnau) Holze. He married Mabel Hansen on September 03, 1950 at the Plato Center Lutheran Church.
The first forty years of his life was devoted to the Hampshire community, where he worked hard at dairy farming, alongside his family. He also worked at Steffens Brothers hauling cement for the building of the I-90 tollway, helped out at Allen's Corner Garage, and with Ron Fredrick Funeral Home.
He was a member of the Auctioneer Association and auctioned many, many sales. He was president of the Hampshire PTA, member of the Pure Milk Association and played Santa Claus for Hampshire. He also was a member of his local 4-H club until becoming a leader for the Hampshire Junior Farmers which he spent 10 years.
In the summer of 1970 they bought a farm and moved to Stockton, Illinois. There he continued his farming, and his auctioneering until 2012. While living in Stockton he also worked for Eaton Corporation in Warren and sold cars for Hoy Ford in Lena.
Kenneth was known for his jokes and telling old stories from the past. He loved playing cards, fishing, hunting with his family on the family farm, as well as his many hunting trips with family and friends out west and Canada. And let's not forget his stogies'!
He has touched so many lives and helped many in there time of need. He will be missed by all…
Memorials may be made in remembrance to the Kenneth Holze Family.
Services will be at the Hermann Funeral Home, Stockton, Illinois on Saturday March 08, 2014, from 4:00 to 6:30 with a service immediately following.
On Monday March 10, 2014 there will be a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home in Hampshire, IL wher visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with burial at the Hampshire Center Cemetery.
