LaVerne A. Morhardt , age 63 of Stockton, IL passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at home. He was born August 6, 1954 in Savanna to the late Harold L. and Rose A. (Zink) Morhardt. LaVerne married Paula Baysinger in Stockton on August 9, 1975.

He was a 1972 graduate of Stockton High School and attended Highland Community College to get his Journeyman Certification in maintenance. He had been employed at Dura Automotive for 43 years in the maintenance department. LaVerne collected IH Cub Cadet Garden Tractors, Disney movies and dragons. He enjoyed scroll saw woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

LaVerne is survived by his wife, Paula of Stockton; two sons, Nathan (Tammy) of Monroe, WI and Jeremy (Sylvia) of Stockton; brothers, Mike (Deb) of Montana and Duane (Mary Ann) of Stockton; sister, Lynn (Wayne) Schultz of Stockton; and five grandchildren, Caleb, Abby, Brianna, Matthew and Benjamin. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jacob.
