Leo Gene Kness , age 57 of Mount Carroll, Son of Glen and Donna (Schriner) Kness, passed away on Thursday October 12, 2017.

Leo worked with Fred and Debbie Paschke for the past 36 years at the lumberyard. He enjoyed carpentry and spending time at the Ponderosa working on his projects and having a cold beer with anyone who stopped by.

Leo married Shirley Stutzman April 11, 1981 and they had three sons. Later they divorced. He never remarried.

Leo is survived by his father Glen and stepmother Tonda Kness. His three sons Joshua (Brenda), Travis (Jenny) and Jacob (Alicia) and 8 grandchilren. His brothers and sisters, Glenda (Larry) Lott, Kathi (Mike) Bonczyk, Kelly Plock, Brian (Tina) Kness, Glen Kness, Christopher Kness, and Patrick Kness. Also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother Donna (Schriner) Kness, his sister Rhoda Kness Wilson, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
