Leona M. Ibsen, age 78 of Stockton, IL, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Stockton Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was born September, 18, 1934 to Ralph and Marie (Mapes) Slonecker. Leona married Richard Ibsen on March 22, 1974 in Anaconda MT, he died January 28, 1993.Leona received her nursing degree in Butte, MT, and had worked for several health care providers until retiring from the Morgan Memorial Home in Stockton. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stockton. She was also a member of the Pearl City Legion Auxiliary. Leona enjoyed having coffee with friends and volunteering at church and the Auxiliary.She is survived by four daughters, Pearl Mathisen of North Carolina, April (Stanley) Eberle of Stockton, Rita (Jake) Randecker of Savanna, IL, Ila (Jim) Carlson of Stockton, and Alice (Jeremy) Wickman of Loves Park, IL; two sons, Verlin Yeager of Freeport, IL and Eric (Leah) Eberle of Savanna, IL; two sisters, Valda Groezinger of Stockton and Ruth Whitieker of Rockford, IL; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Tammy, and brother Ralph Jr.A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton, Rev. Eunbae Doe presiding. There will be a one hour visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 AM. A memorial fund has been established.
