Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of LeRoy Charles Behrens Jr. announce his passing on June 27 th , 2018 peacefully in his rural Warren home, with his daughter by his side. LeRoy will be sadly missed by his wife, Laurel; his daughters, Erika (Eric) Reynolds of Warren; Pamela (Andrew) Mays of Frankfurt, Germany, and Lisa Asmondy of Nashville, Tennessee.

LeRoy was born on September 6 th , 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to LeRoy and Leona Behrens.

LeRoy served his country for six years in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman. He was also a Vietnam Veteran.

After returning home, he married Laurel Jean Genua on August 6 th , 1966. The couple resided in Chicago while he worked as a police officer for the City of Chicago. In 1978 they decided to bring their family to Warren, where he became a small business owner and continued to serve as a police officer. LeRoy worked as a patrolman and was also the Chief of Police before his retirement.

LeRoy enjoyed serving his community and helping others. He believed in second chances and worked hard to support those who needed them. His laid-back demeanor and friendly personality made him very approachable. He truly enjoyed all the friendships he made while working in surrounding communities.

Most of his life he was involved with Boy Scouts of America. LeRoy was a Scoutmaster of Troop 913. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 464 for 22 years.

LeRoy is survived by his grandsons, Floyd and Tommy Mays of Germany and Jake and Josh Reynolds of Warren.

LeRoy had 6 siblings, 12 nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, Penny Anderson: married to Jim Walker (deceased) – 3 children married to Eldon Anderson (deceased). Debby Wedow: married to Bill Wedow – 4 children. Tim Behrens: married to Denise – 2 children. Rolonda Mack: married to Mike Mack - 3 children. Tracy Behrens and Philip Behrens.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents.

At his request no services will be held. Condolences may be sent to his home.
