Obituary

Linda Lou Brunner Imel , age 86, of Stockton, IL passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026 at FHN Hospital. She was born at home in Stockton on May 10, 1939 to the late Golden and Dorothy (Dittsworth) McKee. Linda married James Brunner on January 20, 1957. James passed away July 7, 1994.

Linda was an active member of Calvary Church in Stockton and Lake Gibson Methodist Church in Lakeland, FL where she was very active with the Women in Mission's annual rummage sale . Linda loved her time spent in Florida with her friends and family down there. She had farmed, worked at microswitch, the truck stop in Stockton, and retired from Dura. Linda enjoyed helping serve the chicken during the Stockton 4th of July Celebration and following the Stockton Renegades and cooking for their yearly party. She also loved everything old western.

Linda is survived by her son, James Brunner; her daughters, Veronica Lumley, Jamie (Dennis) Mayer, Valeria (Thomas) Bartch; Lorraine Brunner and Cristy Brunner; her grandchildren, Rebecca (James) Shellenberger, Ryan Lumley, Collin (Jennifer) Lumley, Wendy (Chad) Lawfer, Amanda (Brian) Lytle, Lacie Upmann, Michelle (Brandon Golden) Bartch, Kimberly Bartch, Alisha (Chad Sandell) Bartch, Bryana (Justin Stotts) McGuire, Devlin McGuire, Jonathan (Brenna) Heller and Jacob Heller; her great grandchildren, Olivia, Abigail, Madison and Kendall Shellenberger, Kaylyn and Jeanette Lumley, Hunter and Mason Dargin, Cheyenna (Dylan Butler) Lawfer, Kain Lawfer, Kyle, Gaige and Zander Lytle, Gatsby Upmann/Anschutz, Daphney Bartch, Ivan and James Wickler, River Brenner, Wade and Jedd Feltmeyer, Keller and Weston Otto, Arlo and Marley Heller; her great great grandchildren, Scarlett Bartch, Oliver Pina, Kayden Lawfer, and Easton, Sky and Haven Butler: and her sister, Laurrel (Jack) Vanderheyden. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; her sister, Eleanor Schreck; and an infant brother, Gordon.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Calvary Church in Stockton at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established.
