Lloyd L. Mader passed away at 2:20 pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the age of 94 years, 10 months, and 23 days.
Lloyd was born May 19, 1916, the second son of Adam and Mary (Kempel) Mader. He lived a happy, giving, loving life beginning from his birth on his family's Kent, IL farm.
He was a proud graduate of Stockton High School.
Lloyd worked the family farm for over 60 years and constructed most of the farm's buildings himself, as well as a special tree swing for his grand kids that brought them great joy while growing up.
Lloyd's love of family, friends, and farming will long be remembered. His conversations about classic cars, tractors, his time as a mechanic during the Depression and his family will be greatly missed by the boys in Stockton who heard about them over coffee, and amongst all who knew and loved him.
Lloyd married his true love, Genevieve (Magee) Mader in Apple River, IL on July 23, 1943, and shared 59 wonderful years until her death in 2002. Their lives were blessed with a daughter, Barbara (Mader) Buck, who was born in 1949. Lloyd's family was truly the greatest joy of his devoted life.
Grateful for having shared Lloyd's life are Harry and Barb (Mader) Buck; 4 grandchildren, Christine (Buck) Roth, Kelli (Buck) Higgins, Kimberly (Buck) McCuen, and Rebecca Buck; 5 great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Orie, and his wife Genevieve.
A celebration of Lloyd's life will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:30 AM, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Stockton, IL. A one hour visitation will be held at the church, beging at 9:30 AM. The burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Stockton. A memorial fund has been established.
