Lois Jean Cosgrove, age 80 of Durand, IL, passed away at home surrounded by her family Tuesday, December 23, 2014. She was born June 25, 1934 in Apple River, IL; the daughter of the late James and Maude (French) Sigafus. She married Peter Cosgrove on October 4, 1952 in Stockton, IL; he died March 8, 1997.

Lois was a very caring person and made many friends wherever she went, all of the little kids would call her "Gramma". She loved life and planting flowers. She was addicted to word search books and loved Willie Nelson and western movies.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Teresa Cosgrove; grandsons, Peter James Cosgrove and Kyle Lee Porter; great grandchildren, Christian, Kayleigh, and Ethen; sisters, Nelda Hilfiker and Winnifred Luke; and special friends, Joy Dolezel and her children Abby and Olivia and Jim Hinkle

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter; four children, Peter, James, Robert, and Kathy Ann; and dear friend Jon.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 3, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton, IL. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
