Loretta R. Upmann, 90, of Stockton died Friday, January 27, 2012 at the FHN Memorial. She was born July 25, 1921 in Scales Mound IL the daughter of the late Louis & Annie (Waldshmitt) Stephan. She was a 1939 graduate of Scales Mound High School. Loretta married William Upmann on June 29, 1939 in Apple River, IL, he died March 1, 1985. Together they had farmed and operated Upmann Feed Service, she loved raising chickens and selling eggs. She had been a 4-H leader for over 30 years with the Albion Hustlers 4-H Club. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and listening to the radio. Loretta was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton. She is survived by her daughter Ruth Ann (Ronald) Turpin of Elroy, WI, 10 Grandchildren; Adam Upmann, Courtney Upmann, Tanya (Cameron) Schalk, John Turpin, Jerry (Becky) Turpin, Terry Turpin, Robert (Chelsey) Turpin, Judy Turpin, Tony Turpin & Sally Turpin, 3 Great Grandchildren; Martika, Dylan and Fiona.She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Son William Jr. and his wife Diane, 2-brothers Joseph & John Stephan and 2-sisters Pearl & Florence Huilman. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton where a Scripture Service will be held at 3:45 PM. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Stockton with Father Dean Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Stockton. A memorial fund has been established for the Albion Hustler's 4-H Club.
