Marie Lois Kerr , age 101, of Shannon, IL passed away Friday, April 4, 2025. She was born in Pearl City, IL on January 25, 1924 to the late John and Edna (Roberts) Voss. Marie married Norman Kerr on July 6, 1942 in Freeport. Norman died October 7, 1992.

Marie had worked as a waitress at the Shannon Café and at Hunts Grocery Store. She was also a seamstress and housekeeper. She enjoyed needlepoint, sewing, gardening, and decorating cookies with her family for the holidays.

Marie is survived by her son, Eugene (Kay) Kerr of Shannon; her daughters, Barbara (Clark) Smith of Sterling and Juleen (Steve) Fellows of Freeport; her daughter-in-law, Connie Kerr of Orangeville; her 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren with 2 on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Gerald Kerr; her brothers, Kenny, Milford, Howard, Virgil and Laverne; her sister, Marjorie Manthei; and her 5 sisters-in-law.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Hermann Funeral Home in Shannon at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established.
