Marilyn E. Visel , 85 of Pearl City passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at FHN surrounded by her family. She was born August 22, 1932, in Freeport, IL to her parents, the late Clarence and Alice Bittner. She graduated from Freeport High School and went to Bethel College in Minnesota and then graduated from Trinity University near Chicago. Marilyn married George Visel from Evanston, IL, on December 27, 1952, and eventually made their home in Pearl City where they ran a floral shop business called "Floral-Feather-Fin" for over 30 years. After running her business, she worked for the Pearl City School District and at Demeester Floral in Freeport.

Marilyn enjoyed reading, working with flowers, Nascar, butterflies and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Lena Evangelical Free Church in Lena, IL.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and niece Jolene. She is survived by her husband, 4 sons and a daughter; Daniel (Ellen), Connie Visel, Terilyn Kennedy (Jim), Doug (Kris), Dave (Barb), Don (Amy), with 20 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way. She has 2 sisters, Carolyn Delzell and Sylvia (Ed Cotton), with 6 nieces and nephews.
