Marjorie Manthei , age 92, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Allure of Mt. Carroll. She was born on August 3, 1932 to the late John and Edna (Roberts) Voss. Marjorie married Glenn Manthei on May 2, 1954. Glenn passed away June 10, 2013.

Marjorie was a graduate of Pearl City High School. She loved to cook and bake. She was known for her famous donuts and Christmas cookies. Every Christmas she made new ornaments with a different theme for each year. She loved sewing, crafts, reading, watching afternoon soap operas, and collecting bells.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila (Jerry) Hartman and Sheryl Strohecker; her sons, Barry (Jayne Hill) Manthei, Kelly Manthei and Jeff (Marla) Manthei; her daughter-in-law, Colette Manthei; her sister, Marie Kerr; her 21 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren (plus one on the way); and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Joel; her granddaughter, Heidi; her son-in-law, Mike Strohecker; her daughter-in-law, Leslie Manthei; and her brothers, Kenneth, Milford, LaVerne, Virgil and Howard.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Hermann Funeral Home in Shannon at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established.
