Mark Douglas Homan , age 71, of Shannon, IL passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Rock River Hospice Home in Sterling, IL. He was born in Freeport, IL on March 17, 1954 to the late Donald and Pauline (Lower) Homan.

Mark was a 1972 graduate of Shannon High School and went on to graduate from Highland Community College. He had worked as a diesel mechanic for Caterpillar for 20 years. Mark enjoyed scuba diving, riding his Harley, taekwondo, and giant aquariums with saltwater fish.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Homan; his grandchildren, Kyri Strope, Madison Bush and Eve Bush; his sister, Terrie Martin; and his brother, Greg Homan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Miranda Homan.

A private family service will be held. A memorial fund has been established.
