Patrick M. Donovan age 69 of Lake Carroll, IL, died Tuesday May 17, 2011 at his daughters home in Machesney Park after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 5, 1941 in Rockford the son of the late John & Marion (Poulton) Donovan. He married Joanne Sehr on October 5, 1963. He was a member of the Painters Union Local 607. Patrick worked for Superior Drywall for many years. He was an avid walleye fisherman, loved his grandchildren, birds, and his beloved dog JoJo who was at his side the whole time, boating, gardening, cooking, trips to Canada and the morning guys at Lake Carroll. He is survived by his wife Joanne, 3-daughters; Penny Donovan of Rockton, IL, Pamela (Jeffrey) Klarman and Katherine Donovan-Ellis of Machesney Park, IL, 2-sons; Michael (Vicky) Donovan of Rockford and Steven (Kim) Donovan of Roscoe, IL, 10-grandchildren; Kyle, Nichole, Christopher, Emily, Brittni, Natalie, Betsy, Danielle, Nicholas, & Skylar, great grandchild Gabrielle, and sister; Jean Johnson of Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at St. Wendelin's Catholic Church in Shannon, Il., where visitation will be one hour before the service.
