Peggy Rae Woker's Obituary
Peggy Rae (Pacey) Woker passed away on September 13, 2014 at her home with her family by her side. Peggy was born April 5, 1951 in Woodstock, IL to Harold "Stub" and Mary Lou Pacey. She lived in Richmond, IL until she was 14 and her dad's job was transferred to Pearl City, IL. She graduated from Pearl City High School in 1969. On June 21, 1969 she and Gerald Woker were married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pearl City.
Peg and Gerald farmed side by side for their entire married lives near Pearl City. Peg was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pearl City, Stephenson County Farm Bureau, AMPI, and was a volunteer for the Stephenson County 4-H for many years. Together Gerald and Peg served on committees like the Stephenson County Ag Breakfast and together they managed the Milk and Doughnut Booth at the Stephenson County Fair. She looked forward to the fair every year. Spending time with her granddaughters was her favorite past time. She enjoyed listening to them play the piano and watching them play softball. Peg was also an avid bowler, and in her younger days, enjoyed golfing at her Uncle's golf course. She was also a fantastic cook!
Peggy is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gerald Woker. Her Children; Aaron Woker of Pearl City, Brenda Woker of Dekalb, and Deanna (Christopher) Fink of Lanark; two spunky granddaughters, Samantha and Katelyn Fink of Lanark; her mother, Mary Lou Pacey of Pearl City; brother, Gord (Lynn) Pacey of Kent; sisters, Rose Kuhlemier of Forreston and Pamela (Ron) Conkey of Lena; sister-in-law, Karen (Merle) Endress of Chetek, WI; and brother-in-law, Gary (Karen) Woker of Thomson. Also, several loving uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends survive her.
Peggy is preceded in death by her father, Harold "Stub" Pacey; brother's Robert "Big Bob" Pacey, and Dale Pacey; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wayne and Neva Woker.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 16th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Hermann Funeral Home in Pearl City, IL. The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 17th at 10:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pearl City. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL. A memorial fund has been established in Peggy's name.
