Richard Lee Berryhill, age 35, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 at his home.

Rich was born August 8, 1982 in Rockford IL. He attended Stockton schools and graduated from Stockton High School in 2001 and received an associates degree in computer programming at a local college.

He was a staff sergeant in the Air Force and trained as an Electronic Warfare Specialist, holding government top secret security clearance. During his six & a half years of active duty he served in England, Iraq and Eglin AF Base in Florida where he worked as a civilian since July of 2007.

He wrote technical manuals while in the AF to help others with troubleshooting. He was highly respected by all who worked with him.

He especially loved coming home from work to be greeted by his two rat terriers—Amma and "Little Big Guy".  His dogs were his pride and joy.

Rich enjoyed playing basketball, walking on the beach, working out, running, cooking for his friends & co-workers (he won the hottest chili contest two years in a row) and was known for his awesome BBQ sauce and salsa he'd make and share with his friends. He enjoyed hosting "game night" at his house and other social events.

He attended church in Ft Walton Beach, FL where he lived.  His faith was important to him.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 10 at the East Gate Chapel, Eglin Air Force base. A reception will follow.

A special thank you to Rich's boss, co-workers and friends who have been very supportive and have gone the "extra mile" for Rich. Your love and kindness will never be forgotten.

Rich is survived by his parents, Tim and Mary Berryhill (Stockton IL), brother Derek (Denver CO), sister Rose (Peoria IL), step sister Mandy (Ben) Halgren, nieces Lauryn and Addison, nephews Zachary and Parker (Clayton NC), his grandmother Clare Yackle (Lake Carroll IL), and several aunts, uncles & cousins.
